If you are having problems opening the spreadsheet,  try to save it in a compatible format.

CSV,  and XLS are the best,  but also try Microsoft Office Excel Workbook,  or Microsoft Excel 97 - Excel 2003 & 5.0/95 workbook.
This should aleviate most issues with the spreadsheet.
Dont forget to add it as an attachment to the email as you reply!
